VERNON — Julius Ragalyi Jr., age 82, passed away after an extended illness, on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital.
He was born Nov. 24, 1930, in Gustavus, Ohio, a son of Julia (Szabo) and Julius Ragalyi Sr. Mr. Ragalyi was a 1948 graduate of Gustavus High School and was a lifelong resident until moving to Vernon, Ohio in 2008. On June 27, 1950, he married Lois Joan Arnio.
He worked for the former Copperweld Steel of Warren, Ohio for thirty-eight years and worked as a crane operator, electrician and finally a maintenance inspector until his retirement in 1992. Mr. Ragalyi was a member of Gustavus Federated Church, the Mecca Moose and was a member of Wednesday’s Senior Bowling League. He enjoyed reading, bowling, farming and raising roses.
Mr. Ragalyi was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Michael A. Ragalyi; two sisters, Ethel Rayner and Margaret Klare-Ragalyi; and two brothers, Elmer and Zoltan Ragalyi.
Survivors include his wife sixty-three years, Lois J. Ragalyi; a son, Julius Ragalyi III of Belton, Texas; a daughter, Suzanne A. (Barry) Moore of Vernon, Ohio; four grandchildren, Jay, Charlotte, Travis and Erin; two step-grandsons, Chuck and Kenny; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 26th, at BAUMGARDNER FUNERAL & CREMATION SERVICE, 8569 Main St., Kinsman, Ohio, with Pastor Karen R. Cico officiating.
