MIDDLEFIELD — Jacob W. Detweiler, age 89, of Middlefield, Ohio, entered eternal rest peacefully Tuesday morning, Oct. 22, 2013, at home surrounded by family and friends.

Born in Middlefield, on Oct. 3, 1924, he was a son of the late Wollie N. and Clara J. (Byler) Detweiler. Jacob married Sara M. Gingerich on June 30, 1949. He was a member of the Old Order Amish Church.

He will be missed by his loving wife of 64 years, Sara; children, Marie (Irwin) Weaver, Paul (Edna) Detweiler, Leona (Melvin) Miller and William (Martha) Detweiler; three brothers; three sisters; 24 grandchildren; 68 great-grand-children; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Jacob was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters; two grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 24th, at 15550 Newcomb Road, Middlefield, with Bishop Marvin M. Yoder officiating. Jacob's final resting place will be in Yoder Cemetery, Parkman, Ohio.

Visitation will be anytime until the time of service.
