CONNEAUT — Julian Rae Caine, age 53, of Conneaut, died unexpectedly Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013.
Julie was born in Conneaut on Nov. 21, 1959, the daughter of Edward and Anne (Barbour) Perkoski. She was a 1978 graduate of Conneaut High School and worked for a short time with Crawford Container. She later went to school at West Virginia Northern Community College where she attained a Registered Nursing Degree.
Julie returned to Conneaut and was employed with the Lake Erie Correctional Facility as a Registered Nurse.
Julie was member of St. Mary/ St. Frances Cabrini Parish. She enjoyed drawing and was very artistic. She had a knack for writing and also loved to volunteer in her spare time at the Animal Protective League. Most recently, she traveled to Milwaukee to celebrate Harley Davidson Motorcycle 101st Anniversary with her special friend, Phil Stratman.
Julie was preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Donna Perkoski.
She is survived by her son, Brian Caine of Morgantown, W.Va.; sisters, Joanie and Bill Norton of Conneaut, Patricia “Patty” and Roger Knapp of Conneaut, Krissie West and Rachael Soltys; her very close friend, Valerie Somppi; and several nieces and nephews.
Julie’s legacy lives on with her gift of sight through eye donation.
Calling Hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 30th, at RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 31st, at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill St., Conneaut, with Fr. Philip Miller, of Corpus Christi Parish, officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Route 20, North Kingsville, Ohio.
