ASHTABULA — Ellen Marie Goebel, age 82, of Ashtabula, died at home on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2013.
Born Aug. 14, 1931, in Rocky River, Ohio, she was the daughter of William and Martha (Crowly) Green. On July 3, 1948, she married James Goebel in Covington, Ky.
Mrs. Goebel was retired from the Holiday Inn after 30 years service. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish and formerly of Saint Joseph Parish.
Her hobbies included bowling, crocheting, traveling, and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, James l. Goebel of Ashtabula; sons, Bryan Goebel of Geneva and Mark (Sharon) Goebel of Ashtabula; daughters, Cheryl Goebel and Kim Goebel, both of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Mark Goebel Jr., Sandra Vincent, David Ringler, James Noce, Mariah Dingess, Brooklyn Dingess, Robert Martindale and Danny Martindale; great-grandchildren, Adison and Alexa Goebel, Chloe Noce, Sophia Ringler and Ida Martindale; and a sister, Catherine Higley of Ashtabula.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Green; mother, Martha Weitz; step-father, Harry O’brien; son, James Daniel Goebel; daughter-in-law, Patricia Goebel; and a brother, James O’brien
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Friday, Oct. 18th, at GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 1550 W. 19th St., Ashtabula, with Deacon Richard Johnson, of Our Lady of Peace Parish, officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., Today, Oct. 17th, at the Funeral Home.
