CONNEAUT — Caroline M. Mullen, of Conneaut, Ohio, died Sunday afternoon, Oct. 13, 2013, at UH-Conneaut Medical Center.  She was the daughter of Carl R. and Bertha (Rought) Myers.

A lifelong Conneaut resident, Caroline was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, the F.O.P. Auxiliary, the Women of the Moose of which she served as Treasurer, and Mothers Club. She was a den mother when her children were young and enjoyed babysitting. She also enjoyed crocheting, sitting in the sun, and shopping especially for shoes. She loved to dance and she and her husband James could clear the dance floor.

Survivors include her husband, James whom she married March 4, 1950; her daughter, Kim (Steve) Murphy of Geneva, Ohio; three sons, Carl E. (Beth) Mullen and James Mullen, all of Boynton Beach, Fla. and Donald Mullen of Conneaut; three sisters, Mildred Ridello of Tampa, Fla., Georgia K. Roberts of Williamsfield, Ohio, and Ruth DeForrest Jones of Haines City, Fla.; and her brother John Myers of Conneaut. Also surviving are her grandchildren, Amanda Mullen of Gastonia, N.C., Edward (Erica) Mullen of Gastonia, N.C., John (Anne) Bernardo of Youngstown, Ohio, Angela (Jeff) Gowdy of Painesville, Ohio, Tim Mullen of Boynton Beach, Fla., Jimmy Mullen and Justin Mullen, both of Conneaut, Ohio, Isaac Case and Henry Case, both of Conneaut, Ohio, Dakota Mullen of Conneaut, Ohio, and Lin-Zee Mullen of Kingsville, Ohio; as well as numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and more distant relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Charles Myers; a sister, Patricia Ann Myers; a grandson, baby Carl Patrick Mullen; a nephew, Roger Waxman; and a daughter-in-law, Martha Mullen.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 16th, at MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, with Pastor Jan Walsh, of New Leaf United Methodist Church, officiating.

Calling Hours will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Today, Oct. 15th, at the Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s’ Association or to the American Cancer Society. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
