HARTSGROVE — Robert Francis Levis, age 79, died on Friday, July 19, 2013, at Eagle Pointe Skilled Nursing & Rehab after a prolonged illness.
He was born in Cleveland on Dec. 1, 1933, the son of Frank and Addelade Levis. Robert was a U.S. Army Veteran having served in the Korean War. He was married to Mollie Ann (Palmer) Levis on Nov. 15, 1968.
He was a retired Steel Worker for LTV Steel and member of Hartsgrove, Rome, and Trumbull Volunteer Fire Departments. He was also a member of the Orwell American Legion Post and Guardians USA Vets.
Survivors include his children, Albert Levis, Robert (Caren) Levis, Howard (Merlene Ann) Levis, Steven (Cheryl Gelhausen) Levis, Jonathan Levis and George (Karen) McCollum; brothers, Lloyd and William Levis; sister, Jane Cochran; 12 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mollie Ann Levis; and a sister, Mary Schneider.
A Funeral Service will be held at PAINE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 140 E. Main St., Orwell, Ohio, on Wednesday, July 24th, at 11 a.m. Burial with U.S. Military Honors will take place at the Hartsgrove Township Center Cemetery.
Visitation will take place from 10 to 10:45 a.m., Wednesday, prior to the Service, at the Funeral Home.
At the families request, In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the family in care of Howard W. Levis. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
