ASHTABULA — Pauline Standy, age 91, of Ashtabula, died Tuesday, Jan. 1, 2013, at Hospice of the Western Reserve Hospice House in Cleveland.
Born March 11, 1921, in Yugoslavia, she was the daughter of Jacob and Katherine Povh. Pauline came to the United States by ship from Yugoslavia at the age of 18. She married Louis Standy in 1949.
Mrs. Standy worked at Saint Angelo’s Bowling Alley for many years and was a volunteer for CONTACT. She enjoyed cooking, bowling, and being a mom. Pauline was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church.
Survivors include her son, Danny (Mary) Standy of Ashtabula; daughters, Donna (Michael) Parmigian of Ashtabula and Carol Rose of Grove City, Ohio; grandchildren, Guy Parmigian, Mikey Parmigian, Krista (Mike) Piscura, Davey Rose, Tony Rose, twins Mathew and Michael Rose, Sunda Munger and Carmel Tharp; and great-grandchildren, twins Reese and Emma Piscura.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis Standy; and loving brothers and sisters.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 4th, in Our Lady of Peace Parish, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, with burial to follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
