CONNEAUT — Harriet L. Thomas, age 78, formerly of Sandusky St., Conneaut, Ohio, passed away Wednesday, April 2, 2014, at the Harrington Home after a long struggle with Alzheimer’s disease.
She was born the daughter of George F. and Eunice M. (Johnston) Weaver on Sept. 8, 1935, in Conneaut, Ohio. Harriet graduated from the Conneaut High School, Class of 1954. She married Charles G. “Buzzy” Thomas and together they were married for 43 years before his death in 1998.
Mrs. Thomas attended Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in her younger years. She enjoyed bowling, gardening and shopping. Harriet was very crafty, enjoyed garage sales, loved to bake and take photos of her family. But most of all, Harriet cherished the time she spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Tammy (Dan) Ellingson, Scott (Wendy) Thomas and Danny (Leslie) Thomas, all of Conneaut; grandchildren, Jamie (Joe) Redden, Jacki Thomas, Steven (Kelsie) Thomas and Samantha Getson; great-grandchildren, Taylor and Macie Redden, Braxton Thomas and Kataraina Thomas; sister, Patricia (Robert) Reger of Missouri City, Texas; and a niece and nephew, Kevin and Barbara Reger.
Harriet was preceded in death by her husband, Charles G. “Buzzy” Thomas, and her parents.
Funeral Services will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, April 5th, at the THOMPSON-SMITH-NESBITT FUNERAL HOME, 345 Main St., Conneaut, with Pastor Tim Kraus officiating. Burial will follow at Kelloggsville Cemetery.
Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home on Friday, April 4th, from 6 to 8 p.m.
