CONNEAUT — Carolyn “Squeaker” Mundi, age 69, of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away at the Cleveland Clinic on Friday, March 21, 2014, from a long time illness.
Carolyn was born Jan. 4, 1945, in Shinglehouse, Pa., and was the daughter of the late Leonard and Ruth (Small) Coleman of West Springfield, Pa. She was a 1963 graduate of Oswego Valley High School, and had been employed in home health care.
Carolyn enjoyed talking to people and going to car shows. She loved animals, mostly her dog, “Little Bits.” She was an avid horsewoman and was an exceptional rider, both bare back and saddle. She and her husband raised horses and attended horse shows and auctions.
Carolyn’s biggest love in her world was her son, Lenny. He never missed a night in over 40 years calling her just to talk and say “goodnight – I love you”.
She is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Michael “Mouse” Mundi, whom she married Sept. 26, 1970; her son, Lenny (Emily) Mundi of Conneaut; daughter, Michele (Kevin) Kellum of Deltona, Fla.; step-son, Mick (Cristina) Cline of Conneaut; sister, Genevie Cowher of New Castle, Pa.; brother-in-law, John (Connie) Mundi of Erie, Pa.; and sisters-in-law, Kay Ann (Jon) Brabender of Jefferson, Ohio and Elsie Coleman of West Springfield, Pa. Also surviving are two nephews, Terry (Darla) Weske of Conneaut and Dale (Kim) Fisher of West Springfield, Pa.; nieces, Rhonda (Steve) Kantola of New Castle, Pa., Marilyn (Jim) Wright of Kingsville, Ohio, Sandra (Russ) Bowers of Conneaut, Ohio, Candy (Dale) Knox of West Springfield, Pa., Jackie (Dave) Dello of Conneaut, Ohio and Deb (Ed) Hamann of Sanford, Fla.; four grandchildren; and one newborn great-grandson.
Carolyn was preceded in death by his her parents, Leonard and Ruth Coleman; her brother, Humpty Coleman; sisters, Ginny Kostyun, and Wanny Fisher; and brother-in-law, Frank Mundi.Calling Hours will be from 6 to 9 p.m., Tuesday, March 25th, at MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio.
