ASHTABULA — Virginia Mae Smith, age 82, of Ashtabula, passed away Sunday, April 28, 2013, at Austinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Oct. 25, 1930, in Warren, Ohio, the daughter of Charles and Leta (Hall) Divine. On March 10, 1951, she married Donald R. Smith who preceded her in death in 1989.
She enjoyed sewing, reading, traveling, playing the organ, going to the casino and especially visiting with children and grandchildren.
She is survived by sons, Jerry (Deborah) Smith and Gary Smith, both of Ashtabula; daughter, Kelly (David) Hastings of Jefferson; grandchildren, Prudence Mason, Greg (Jennifer) Smith, Michelle Smith, Danielle Smith, Jennifer Smith, Lisa Smith, Stephanie Moss and Stacy (David) Detore; great-grandchildren, Josie, Cody and Justin Mason, Jereme, Courtney and Brandon Smith, Jordan Fleming and Alexis and Javon Smith; great-great-grandchild, Jayden Mason; brothers, James (Rae Ann) Divine of Bradenton, Fla., Roger (Marsha) Divine and Larry (Judy) Divine, both of Jefferson; brothers-in-law, Herbert Housel of Jefferson and Fred Smith of San Marcos, Calif. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
A Graveside Service will be held 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 1st, at Saybrook Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
