Richard L. Sizemore

JEFFERSON — Richard L. Sizemore, age 44, of East Satin St., Jefferson, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, June 8, 2013.

He was born May 30, 1969, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the son of Lyle and Susan (Allen) Sizemore and had been a lifelong area resident.

A 1988 graduate of Jefferson High School, he worked as a roofer for the Roofer’s Union Local #44, Cleveland and worked regularly with Building Technicians, Geneva.

A Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, he was a true outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and trap shooting. He was a member of the Conneaut Fish and Game Club and the Monroe Sportsman’s Club.

He loved car races and was a regular at Raceway 7 on Friday nights. Richard also enjoyed country music and coffee every evening at the Jefferson Diner with friends. Although he did not have any children, he treasured his nieces and nephews as if they were his own kids and was also especially fond of his dogs, “Sadie and Little Ann” and cat, “Beretta”.

His survivors include his wife, Jackie (Coy), whom he married Sept. 11, 1992; one brother, Terrence Sizemore of Florida; one sister, Jennifer Sizemore-English of Jefferson; his parents, Lyle and Susan Sizemore of Wewahitchka, Fla.; his grandparents, Clifford and Hazel Allen of Kingsville; several aunts and uncles; and 12 nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Thelma Alease and Jink Sizemore; and his step-father-in-law, George Oros, whom he was especially close to.

Calling Hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 13th, at the ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula.

A Service will be held at the Funeral Home at 11 a.m. on Friday, June 14th, with Pastor Bill McMinn, of Eagleville Bible Church, officiating. Full Military Honors will be conducted by American Legion Dewey-Howlett Post #103.
