Samuel A. Giannelli, age 84, of Ashtabula, died Thursday morning, May 8, 2014, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Born Aug. 10, 1929, in Ashtabula, he was the son of Samuel and Etalia (Altomare) Giannelli. Sam was a Veteran of the United States Army and on Jan. 26, 1957, he married the former Lena Guerriero.
Mr. Giannelli was retired form Conrail Railroad after 46 years of service. He enjoyed motorcycles, fishing, lawn tractors, and computers.
Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Lena Giannelli; sisters, Marcieta Giannell and Dorothy Daniels, both of Ashtabula; niece, Andrea Emerick of Ashtabula; nephew, Dan Daniels of Ashtabula; and aunts, Cecelia Giannell and Lucille Noce, both of Ashtabula.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Sammy Giannelli; sister, Berniece Emerick; brother, Walter Giannelli and a brother in infancy.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Saturday, May 10th, at GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 1550 W. 19th St., Ashtabula, with Deacon Richard Johnson, of Our Lady of Peace Parish officiating. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m., Saturday, at the Funeral Home.
