PALM BEACH SHORES, Fla. — James M. Ely, age 53, of Palm Beach Shores, Fla., formerly of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away Jan. 30, 2014, from an accidental drowning.
A graduate of Edgewood High School, Class of 1978, he was a AC/REF Technician and a resident of Florida for the past 28 years.
Jim is survived by his loving parents, Phyllis and Jim; his best friend, brother, David (Kim) Ely; his pride and joy, nephews, Matthew and Stephen Ely; and devoted aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m., Tuesday, April 1st, at OLOP Parish, St. Joseph’s Church, Lake Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio.
Family will greet friends at 10 a.m., before Mass at the Church.
For those friends who wish, memorial offerings in “Jim’s” memory may be made to the charity of their choice.
Although Jim has died, his memory will live on as he has donated his two kidneys and liver to Life Alliance.
