ERIE, Pa. — Miriam E. “Midge” Barthelson, age 80, of Girard, Pa., passed away Saturday, March 22, 2014, at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie, Pa.
Born Oct. 12, 1933, in Conneaut, Ohio, she was the daughter of J. Edward and Mary (Kuivinen) Kultti.
Midge was a graduate of Rowe High School, Class of 1951, and worked various positions at General Electric Conneaut Base Plant for 42 years. She was also the recording secretary at the local plant.
She enjoyed gardening, boating on Lake Erie, going to flea markets, white elephant sales and antiquing.
Midge also enjoyed spending time at her husband Glenn's campground, Camp Eriez, in Lake City, Pa. She and Glen married July 18, 2005, and enjoyed wintering in Vero Beach, Fla.
Survivors include her husband, Glenn of Girard, Pa.; her daughter, Diane (Roy) Thaler of Madison, Ohio; and two sisters, Margaret Bahney of Hermosa Beach, Calif., and Mildred “Millie” Richards of Conneaut, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Viola Walbridge; and her brother, Adolph Kultti.
Funeral Service will be 1 p.m., Thursday, March 27th, at the MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, with Nancy Guthrie, Pastoral Assistant of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Center Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Thursday, from 11 a.m. until the time of the Service at 1 p.m.
