ASHTABULA — William Huffman, age 73, of Ashtabula, died late Friday, March 21, 2014, in the Hospice Unit of Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Born Jan. 1, 1941, in Ashtabula, Ohio, he was the son of Gerald R. and Roberta (Swartz) Huffman.
William spent 6 years in the National Guard and worked 18 years and retired from Wheeler Rex as a shipping clerk. He was a member of the Tuscan Lodge and the Rod and Gun Club. He also loved history and reading.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Huffman of Ashtabula whom he married on Nov. 18, 1991; daughter, Michele Thaetig of Lubbock, Texas; step-sons, Timothy Palmer of Martinsburg, W.Va., Rickey Huff of Hopperferry, W.Va. and Steven Huff of Hagerstown, W.Va.; grandchildren, Jessia Canbaz, Brittney Palmer, Christopher Palmer, Bernaa Huff, Jazzman Huff, Stevn Huff, Anthony Huff and Mathew Huff; sisters, Janet Kennedy, Dodie (Jim) Miller and Betty Jean (Bill) Swickard; and a sister-in-law, Nicolette Huffman, all of Ashtabula.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Gerald Huffman.
Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, March 25th, at GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 1550 W. 19th St., Ashtabula, with Pastor Kenneth Roberts officiating. Burial will follow in Edgewood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Today, March 24th, at the Funeral Home.
