CONNEAUT — Violet M. Machamer, age 81, of Conneaut, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Friday afternoon, Dec. 27, 2013, at UPMC Hamot Medical Center in Erie, Pa., with her family by her side.
She was born May 27, 1932, in Wiconisco, Pa., the daughter of Harry and Sarah (Williams) Dietrich. A graduate of Wiconisco High School, she also attended Nyack College in Nyack, N.Y.
She was a classroom aide for over 30 years in the Conneaut Area School System, retiring in 2000. As a pastor’s wife, she assisted him in various churches in Pennsylvania, Ohio, Kentucky and Mississippi. She attended the Erie First Assembly of God and enjoyed singing. She loved to knit, crochet, and attend craft sales and shows.
Survivors include two daughters, Miriam Walton and Charlene (Brian) Walton, both of Conneaut, Ohio; her sister, Millie Dietrich of Elizabethville, Pa.; three grandchildren, Rebekah (Ken) Fuller, Jeremy (Elizabeth) Walton and Theresa Curtis; five great-grandchildren, Kathryn Fuller, Zane McRoberts, Richard Walton, James Walton and Henry Walton; and more distant relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Rev. Charles Machamer Jr.; her daughter and son-in-law, Rev. Joseph and Jean Markijohn; a grandson, James Walton; great-grandson, Brian J. Curtis; and her brother, Harry Dietrich.
Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 4th, at MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Donald Fisher, of Erie First Assembly of God, officiating. Inurnment will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Calling Hours will be at the Funeral Home on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and also on Saturday from 10 a.m. until time of Service at 11 a.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to Conneaut Human Resource Center Right Track program. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
