EUCLID — Phyllis E. Stewart (Russell) passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, surrounded by loved ones. She was born Nov. 14, 1926, in Syracuse, N.Y.
Phyllis raised her eight children and supported the raising of her grandchildren while being a lifelong waitress. She not only loved her career, but she was loved by her many customers. She brightened up a room with her smile. She was a two-time breast and lung cancer survivor. She was an example of courage, strength, love, and family.
She taught us many lessons through her lifestyle, and showed us how to enjoy life. She introduced us to fine foods, music and games with much laughter. Her legacy will continue in the circle of life throughout the future generations. She was a pillar of strength for her entire family. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and aunt; with endless love for children. She will be missed by all of her family, friends and caretakers.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Judy (James) Kidner, Wendy Stewart, Julie (Michael DiCillo) Adams, Gary (Carol) Stewart, and Darcy (Don) Fitzgerald; her 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her three sons, James, William and Michael Stewart.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:30 a.m., Saturday, Dec. 21st, at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Willowick.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m., Friday, at the MONREAL FUNERAL HOME, 35400 Curtis Blvd., Eastlake, Ohio.
