ASHTABULA — Martha Geneva Herron, age 90, passed away Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, with her family by her side.

She was born Oct. 28, 1922, in Elkins, W.Va., the daughter of Granville Pat and Alice Mae (Vanvander) Hornick and had returned to Ashtabula to live with her daughter, Judy Wolford in 2007 after living in Wheeling, W.Va. for many years.

A founding member of the Pentecostal Church of God in Ashtabula with her friend and pastor, Rev. Henry Roberts, Martha loved nothing more than her family and her church. She was blessed to raise 10 children and had a deep love for and devotion to all of her family and the Lord. She also truly enjoyed working in her garden.

Her survivors include eight children, Judy (Delmar) Wolford of Ashtabula, Charles (Sue) Herron of Elkins, W.Va., twins Doris (Gilbert) Markko of Andover and Don (Sharon) Herron of Kingsville, Elsie (Ray) Starks of Mendon, Mich., Betty (Don) Eltringham and Geneva Faye Straub, both of Wheeling, W.Va., and Roger Herron of Ashtabula; 19 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter, Sadie; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Herron on Feb. 1, 2000; two children, Patty Lou Herron and Ronnie Herron; six brothers; six sisters; and her parents.

Calling Hours in Ashtabula will be held from 11 a.m. until time of Service at 12 Noon, on Tuesday, Dec. 11th, at Pentecostal Church of God, 2201 Cook Road, Ashtabula.

In West Virginia, Calling Hours will be held from 11 a.m. until time of Service at 12 Noon, on Wednesday, Dec. 12th, at Kepner Funeral Home - Burke Chapel, 2101 Warwoood Ave., Wheeling, W.Va. Burial will be in Short Creek Cemetery, Short Creek, W.Va.

The Rev. Kenneth Roberts, Pastor of Pentecostal Church of God, will officiate at both Services.

As an alternative to flowers, contributions may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, 1166 Lake Ave., Ashtabula, Ohio 44004.
