CONNEAUT — Alice Louise Wolfe’s body died of breast cancer at her home on June 7, 2013.

She taught music in elementary schools in Kentucky, Pennsylvania and Ohio, and adult education courses for the West Virginia Department of Welfare. She worked with churches and hospitals in Nicaragua, and was director of various church choirs.

She married the Rev. Leland Edward Wolfe Jr. on June 25, 1953, in Morgantown, W.Va. They were born just a couple of miles apart, just 19 days apart, delivered by the same doctor and their families knew each other, but Ed and Louise didn’t meet until freshman English. Ed died on June 16, 2002.

They have three daughters, five grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren: Judy Dunkin, her daughter, Seader, and her sons, Conner, Michael and Alex, all of Geneva, Ohio; Mary and her husband, Ross Arcuri, and their children, John and Mary Beth, all of Oakmont, Pa.; and Susan and her husband, Darrell Burkey, and their children, Alex and Leland, all of Leesburg, Va.

Louise retired in 1995 as classroom music, band and chorus teacher at Geneva Elementary School in Geneva, Ohio. She truly loved helping people and teaching music. She had a great sense of humor and a knack for striking up conversations and making anyone and everyone feel welcome.

She donated her body for medical science to the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. A Memorial Service will be held at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, Jefferson, Ohio, led by the Rev. James Brehler, on Sunday, August 18th, at 3 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to First Congregational United Church of Christ, 41 E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio 44047, and Baptist House (Chautauqua Institution), in care of Glenn Bloss, 125 N. Dow St., Falconer, N.Y. 14733-1509.
