MANCHESTER, N.H. — Mary Canzonetta of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away at Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, N.H., on Sunday, July 28, 2013, after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her children and is now rejoined with her husband, James, who passed away in 2005.
Mary was a life-long member of Our Lady of Peace, Mount Carmel Parish. She was born on April 26, 1923, in Ashtabula, a daughter of Giuseppe and Concetta DiFalco Chiacchiero. A 1941 graduate of Ashtabula High School, she attended Ashtabula Business College and Kent State University.
She was employed for many years as a plant accountant for SCM Corporation and Millenium Corporation, and later as administrative secretary at the Ashtabula Area City Schools, retiring in 2009.
She is survived by her son, Lewis James Canzonetta of Palm Springs, Calif.; her daughter, Mary Beth Ayvazian of Temple, N.H.; her grandchildren, Lara Spaller and her husband, Steven, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and James Canzonetta and his wife, Michelle, of Sorrento, Fla.; great-grandchildren, Samuel Spaller, Mathilde Spaller, Anthony Canzonetta and Dean Robert Canzonetta; her sisters, Nancy Leng and Jennie Lupo, and her brother, Anthony Chiacchiero, all of Ashtabula; and many nieces and nephews whom she adored and were an integral part of her life.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James; and her sister, Edith Prisco.
The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Friday, August 2nd, at the GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 1550 W. 19th St., Ashtabula. Funeral Service will follow at 12:30 p.m. at Our Lady of Peace, Mount Carmel Parish, with the Rev. Ernesto Rodriguez officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
