Helen Ceora Stone, age 96, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Saybrook Landing.
The daughter of Scott M. and Hallie (Eshbaugh) Kifer, she was born on August 23, 1917, in Titusville, Pa. On Sept. 6, 1936, she married Harold V .”Pete” Stone and together they celebrated sixty-five years of love and laughter.
An active and vital member of Prospect Presbyterian Church, she enjoyed serving on committees and being helpful.
Helen and Harold had many interests in common, they both liked to play cards with their friends and solve crossword puzzles and travel. Helen also enjoyed crocheting, knitting and bowling.
Her most enjoyable memories were the times spent with friends and family. A wonderful wife, mom and grandma, she will be remembered for her joy of life, her wonderful smile, and her faith.
Helen is survived by her beloved daughter, Carol (Edward) Fenton of Davenport, Fla.; her precious grandchildren, Pamela (Gary) Oakley of Davenport, Fla. and Eric (Anne Marie) Fenton of Whitestone, N.Y.; cherished great-grandchildren, Dylan Oakley and Nolan and Eve Ceora Fenton; sisters, Verla “Buddie” Minick of Ashtabula and Martha “Dottie” Risinger of Saybrook Township; and many loving nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold V. Stone on Dec. 3, 2001; her siblings, Scott Kifer, Estherbelle “Belle” Mollie and Mary Lou Cochran; and her parents.
Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m., Monday, June 2nd, at DUCRO FUNERAL SERVICES AND CREMATORY, 4524 Elm Ave., Ashtabula. The Rev. Quincy Worthington, Pastor of Trinity Presbyterian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, Ohio.
A Calling Hour will be observed from 1 p.m. until time of Service, Monday, at the Funeral Home.
