KINGSVILLE — James Gordon “Jim” Baird, age 68, of Kingsville, Ohio, died at home on Wednesday, June 26, 2013.
Born Sept. 6, 1944, in Conneaut, Ohio, he was the son of Gordon and Dorothy (Gibson) Baird. A graduate of Rowe High School, he attended Bowling Green State University, majoring in geology.
He was a self-employed contractor and dairy farmer. He attended Amboy United Methodist Church in his earlier years, and was a member of the Farm Bureau and a 4-H Advisor. Jim enjoyed watching car racing, gardening and his cows. He was a Cleveland sports fan and an avid Civil War buff, but most of all, he enjoyed his family.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Irene Baird whom he married in 1977; two daughters, Michelle Baird of Plymouth Township, Ohio and Jackie Baird of Columbus, Ohio; his son, Brian Baird of Charlotte, N.C.; two sisters, Mary Baird of Pataskala, Ohio and Patricia (David) Bowers of Centerville, Ind.; an uncle, Robert Bossley of Geneva, Ohio; and nieces, nephews and more distant relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 1st, MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, with Pastor Jan Walsh, of New Leaf United Methodist Church, officiating.
Calling Hours will be at the Funeral Home on Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m.
