ASHTABULA — Norma Jean (Ralph) Dalin Gosmer, age 90, formerly of North Bend Road, Willowbrook Senior Apartments, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at Saybrook Landing.
The daughter of Charles C. Ralph II and Nancy Belle (Richey) Ralph, she was born Dec. 30, 1922, in Rock Creek, Ohio, and was an Ashtabula County resident all of her life.
Prior to retirement in 1982 as a teller supervisor, she worked for 22 years for the NEO bank.
Mrs. Gosmer was a member of the Ashtabula Historical Society, the Ashtabula Elks #208 Ladies Auxiliary, the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #943, charter member of the North East Ohio American Merchant Marine Veterans and a 70-year member of the Messiah Lutheran Church.
A great advocate for Lakeside High School, her many interests included genealogy, history and travel which took her to many foreign countries during which time she visited Sweden, Russia, Morocco, South Korea and England.
Survivors include her son, Alan H. (Carol) Dalin of Ashtabula; her daughter, Susan N. (Robert) Pasqualone of Chardon; four grandchildren, David (Dana) Dalin of Rock Hill, S.C., Kelly (James) Scoby of Medina, Julie (Michael) Bess of Galena and Kristen (Richard) Kern of Austinburg; and 11 great-grandchildren, Jennifer Dalin, Jessica (Josh) Vaux, Jillian (David Lingard) Dalin, Kira Thompson, Lindsay and Sarah Scoby, Michael and Lauren Bess, and Carlin, Megan, and Jack Kern; one great-great-grandson, Connor Lingard; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Elton E. Dalin in 1971; second husband, Damon A. Gosmer in 1995; infant son, Eric Charles in 1948; four sisters; Hazel Johnson, Margaret (Hoskins) Morse, Dorothy Budd and Mildred (Holt) Luster; two brothers, J. Richey Ralph and Charles C. Ralph III; and her parents.
Calling Hours will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m., with a Service to follow at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 22nd, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 615 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula. The Rev. Dr. Michael Meranda, Pastor will officiate. Burial will be in Saybrook Cemetery.
