CONNEAUT — Clara E. Galliazzo, age 71, of Chestnut St., passed away Thursday, Feb. 27, 2014, at her home.
She was born May 29, 1942, in Huntingdon, Pa., and was raised the daughter of John D. and Olive L. (Jenkins) Riley. She had been an Ashtabula county resident most of her life, living many years with her husband on Crystal Avenue in Ashtabula.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as a lunch lady for the Geneva Area Schools and for Camp Calvary.
She was proud to have sent her girls to Catholic School and enjoyed quilting and spending time with her family. She also loved traveling and had done a lot of that with her longtime friend and companion of the past 10 years, Chuck Forsty.
Her survivors include two daughters, Debbie Galliazzo and Rose Galliazzo (Harry) Sheldon, both of Ashtabula; one granddaughter, LaRae Rose Fuller; her companion, Chuck Forsty of Conneaut and his daughters, Charla Forsty and Julie Teed, who were very dear to her; two sisters, Elizabeth A. Meaney of Ashtabula and Martha Albright of Pennsylvania; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick J. Galliazzo in 2003; three brothers, Gregory and Johnny Sprankle as children and Bryan A. Sprankle; and her parents.
A Service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, March 12th, at the family graveside in Edgewood Cemetery, where she will be laid to rest with her husband. The Rev. Kenneth Roberts, Pastor of Pentecostal Church of God, will officiate.
