MURRIETA, Calif. — Former resident of Ashtabula, Joan “Jennie” March (Di Donato), age 89, of Murrieta, Calif., passed away in her sleep on Jan. 19, 2014, with her two daughters and their spouses, her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren by her side.
She was the youngest daughter of the late Pietro Di Donato and Giovannina Ferrara. She loved Ashtabula and all her friends. She married on Feb. 16, 1946, and very reluctantly moved to California in March of 1948. She returned many times for visits but stayed in California for 68 years.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank “Boston” March; and five brothers, Louie, Mike, Joe, Alfred and Charlie.
She is survived by her sister, Linda Incorvia; her daughters, Flo (March) Kelley and Melinda (March) Holwick and their spouses; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Jennie and Boston will be buried together on Feb. 16, 2014 (their wedding anniversary).
