CONNEAUT — Arlene H. Mononen, age 87, of Conneaut, passed away peacefully at home, Tuesday morning, Feb. 11, 2014.
She was born June 3, 1926, in Conneaut, Ohio, the daughter of Alpha and Anna (Kellogg) Mast.
Arlene worked in the kitchen for the Senior Aide Program and also helped run the Township Park concession stand with her son Allan. She was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Conneaut Garden Club, and the Pythian Sisters. She enjoyed gardening, taking walks to McDonalds and going to the library.
Survivors include two daughters, Linda (Tim) Resler of Fredericksburg, Va. and Jean (Mike) Kulyk of North Ridgeville, Ohio; son, Allan Mononen; granddaughters, Vanessa Resler, Allison (Josh) Lavely, Kelly (Mike) Greaves and Shannon Kulyk; great-grandchildren, Dahlia Lavely, Nick Kulyk and Alec Greaves; her nephew, Eugene (Joyce) Mast of Conneaut; and other numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Oiva Mononen in 1983; sisters, Devona Terrill, Gladys Crosby, Lilah Terrill, and Ethel Berridge; and brothers, Duane, Lloyd, Glenn and Howard.
Private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, Ohio.
