ASHTABULA — William C. Vanyo, age 63, of Ashtabula, passed away unexpectedly at home on Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014.
He was born Jan. 20, 1951, in Clymer, Pa., the son of the late William P. and Dorothy Jean (Smith) Vanyo. William was honorably discharged as a U.S. Navy Veteran.
He was a truck driver for many years, a tremendous cook, and a member of the North End Club. A kind and compassionate man, he truly loved spending time with his friends and family.
William is survived by his brothers, Kenneth (Cindy) Vanyo, Randy, John (Tammy), and Alex “Kerry” Melnik, all of Ashtabula, and Scott Melnik of North Kingsville; nieces and nephews, Tiffany, Keristy and Kenny (Angela) Vanyo, and Danielle, Jonathan, Nakita, and Marley Melnik; great-nieces and nephews, Kyle Scollo, Kenny, Payton and Parker Vanyo, and Mataio, Jayden, Dominick and Kilah Snyder.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Vanyo and Dorothy Vanyo-Melnik; and his step-father, John Melnik.
A Celebration of William’s Life will be held 2 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 9th, at the Ashtabula Elks Club, 3115 Lake Road, Ashtabula.
