JEFFERSON — Jesse D. Davis, age 25, of S. Market St., Jefferson, Ohio, died unexpectedly Sunday, June 15, 2014, while camping at Nelson Ledges Quarry Park.
He was born Jan. 31, 1989, in Geneva, Ohio, the son of Tracy D. Davis and John D. Kemmer and has lived in the Jefferson area all of his life. He was a graduate of Grand Valley High School and a 2014 graduate of Kent State University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Jesse was recognized in the Phi Alpha Theta National Historical Honor Society. He was the bass player in the band “Quite Frankly”.
He also enjoyed all outdoor activities including hiking, biking, walking, camping and kayaking.
Survivors include his mother, Tracy of Jefferson; his father, John of Painesville; his step-father, Gary A. Dyke Sr. of Rome Township; two step-brothers, Anthony L. W. Peyer of South Carolina and Gary A. (Andrea) Dyke Jr. of Colebrook Township; and five aunts and uncles, Linda (Ed) Obbish, Deborah Teresczuk, Sharon (Pat) Bebee, Jeff (Tammy) Davis and Tanya (Larry) Sonoski.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eugene and Ann Davis, and Bill and Lois Kemmer.
Funeral Services will be held 11 a.m., Friday, June 20th, at the Jefferson Home of FLEMING & BILLMAN FUNERAL DIRECTORS & CREMATORY, INC., 49 W. Jefferson St., Jefferson, with Alisa Nierzejewski, Certified Celebrant, leading the service.
Calling Hours will be held Thursday, June 19th, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Jesse Davis Memorial Fund, checks made payable to Tracy Dyke. Envelopes will be available at the Funeral Home.
