Antonio T DeAngelis Jr., age 53, died on Friday, June 6, 2014, at the University Hospital-Case Western Reserve.
The son of Antonio T and Joann R. (Walker) DeAngelis Sr., he was born on Oct. 28, 1960, in Ashtabula, Ohio, and had lived in South Carolina and Texas before returning to his hometown in 1993.
Tony was of the Catholic faith.
He married the former Ruth May Kalbach on May 28, 1993 in Greenville, Texas.
For sixteen years, Tony was a valuable employee of the Ashtabula City School System as a member of the building maintenance staff. He enjoyed his co-workers and interacting with the students.
Tony drove bus for Ashtabula Schools and was affectionately known as “Tony the Bus Man”. He was easily recognized by his distinctive railroad hat; Tony enjoyed everything about trains he had so much knowledge to share when it came to his love of trains.
Tony was a fan of “old Television”, Three Stooges, and Star Trek were some of his favorites, and he also enjoyed Steven Seagal movies. Wrestling was another pastime that he liked to share with his friends.
Tony was so talented when it came to anything mechanical; he could build or repair anything. If it didn’t work Tony could fix it.
You never saw Tony without a big smile on his face; he liked to make you laugh. He will be remembered for his smile, generous heart, strength and courage, and his unending love for his friends and family.
Tony is survived by his wife, Ruth May; his children, Antonio T DeAngelis III (Christin Frangos) and Laura Lea DeAngelis (Harold Giddings); his step-daughter, Beth Evone Sito (Charles Sito); his father, Antonio T DeAngelis Sr.; brothers, Joseph Michael (Vicky) DeAngelis, Salvatore Sam (Stacey) DeAngelis and Robert John DeAngelis; step-grandchildren, Aiden and Brandon (Beth) Soden and Laura’s ’little one on the way; nephew, Adam; and nieces, Amber, Adrianna, Bayleigh, Marissa and Stepheny.
