Vincent Samuel Petro, age 61, of Ashtabula, went home to be with his Lord peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2014, at the home of his daughter, Jade, and surrounded by his loving family.
He was born Nov. 16, 1952, in Ashtabula, the son of Elmer and Rachel (Azzano) Petro, and had been a lifelong area resident. Vince graduated from Harbor High School Class of 1971.
He worked as a maintenance director for Zaremba Properties of Cleveland for many years.
Vince was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish, Mt. Carmel Church. He enjoyed repairing things for his family and friends, taking pictures, and working outside; but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His children and grandchildren were by far most important to him and he loved to spend time with them every opportunity he got.
Mr. Petro is survived by his children, Jade (Marc) Wood of Jefferson and Ryan (Michelle) Petro of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Marc, Hunter, and Willow Wood, and Kierstin, Adriana, and Vincent Petro; siblings, Mary Jane Ellis, Rachel (Charles) Simms, Harry (Barb) Petro, Anna (Danny) Allshouse, Patty (John) Montanaro and Theresa (Ken) Mauro, all of Ashtabula, Elmer (Naomi) Petro of Lakewood, Colo., and Frank (Renee) Petro of Mentor.
Vince was preceded in death by his former wife and mother of his children, Deborah Petro in 2006; and his parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m., Friday, June 13th, at Our Lady of Peace Parish, Mt. Carmel Church, 1200 E. 21st St., Ashtabula, with Fr. Ernesto Rodriguez presiding. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m., Thursday, June 12th, at ZABACK-WILLIAMS-DUCRO FUNERAL HOME, 500 W. Prospect Road, Ashtabula.
