ASHTABULA — Marie Edith Heil, age 94, formerly of Conneaut, died Thursday evening, Dec. 14, 2012, at Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Marie was born May 14, 1918, in Olean, N.Y., the daughter of Fred and Mary (Bourke) Metcalf. She graduated from high school and worked for many years as a retail sales clerk in Conneaut. Marie was well known for her work at Whitney’s Clothing Store, Pelton’s, Crown Jeweler’s and Rantas Jeweler’s.
Marie was a member of St. Mary/St. Frances Cabrini Churches and a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She enjoyed to crochet and was an avid gardener in her earlier years.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert Heil; a daughter, Biddiana Kohowski; and brothers, James, Leo, Fred, Carl, Harold and Earl Metcalf.
Marie is survived by her daughter, Mary Tinney of Morrisville, N.C.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren whom she loved and cherished.
Marie will be buried 11:45 a.m., TODAY, Dec. 15th, at St. Joseph Cemetery in Conneaut following family services at RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut, Ohio.
