GENEVA — Gloria C. Harley, age 86, of Geneva, Ohio, passed away Thursday, July 18, 2013, at Geneva Retirement Village in Geneva.
She was born March 2, 1927, in Cleveland, to Mina K. (Kloss) and John Darr. Gloria was a graduate of Harvey High School in Painesville.
An active member of the Painesville Church of Christ with a passion for music, she had a beautiful voice, and loved singing in the choir. She also sang in the Grannie Band in Painesville. She had a kind and gentle nature and was always concerned for the people in her life. A love of children, she often played the role as the neighborhood mom.
She is survived by her sons, Roger, Kenneth and Curt Smith; grandchildren, Sean, Dana, Larry (Adrienne), Barry (Mary), Jennifer, Roger, Meghan, Christopher, Jason and Kevin; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; brother, Garth (Judy) Price; sister, Sylvia (Bernard) Rabinovitz; and brother-in-law, Ralph Rees.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Russell Harley; daughter, Cathy Walker; son, Roy E. Smith; and a sister, Elaine Rees.
Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, August 5th, at THE BEHM FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 175 S. Broadway, Geneva, with Pastor Paul Brunsman, of Geneva Church of Christ, officiating. Final Resting Place will be at Riverside Cemetery in Painesville.
Friends will be received for one hour prior to the Service, at the Funeral Home.
