ZANESVILLE — Amy M. Hawkins, 76, passed away Sunday, Jan. 12, 2014, at Genesis Morrison House.

Amy was born March 29, 1937, in Zanesville, to the late Eugene and Dorthy (Fox) Garvin. She served in the United States Army before coming home to start a family.

She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She dedicated her life to raising her four sons by herself. Following her passion to work with handicapped children, Amy served as a teacher’s aide at Starlight School in Zanesville, Ohio for 23 years.

She is survived by sons, Gary (Celeste), Mark (Nicki), Roger (Linda) and Randy Hawkins; grandchildren, Chad and Craig Hawkins, Andrea Hanover, Billie Jo Deal, Ann and John Hawkins; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, John Mikolajcik of California.

No service will be observed and cremation has been chosen per Amy’s wishes.
