CHARDON — John A. Dobay, age 78, of Orwell, Ohio, entered eternal rest Tuesday morning, Jan. 14, 2014, at UHHS-Geauga Medical Center.
He was born April 13, 1935, to the late John and Olive (Chittle) Dobay.
John, a retired logger, was a former President of the Northeast Ohio Horse Pullers Association. He enjoyed training and competing in horse pulls and spending time with his family.
He will be missed by his loving wife of 58 years, Patricia (Neville); children, Robert (Carol) Towne, Richard (Debbie) Dobay, James (Pamela) Dobay, Tina (Gary) Grudowski, Kathy (Dan) Koziol and Edward (Gail) Dobay; 10 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister; two brothers; and many friends.
John was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; and two brothers.
A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held from 2 to 5 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 18th, at the Orwell North Presbyterian Church, 135 N. Maple Ave., Orwell, Ohio 44076.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the family to defray expenses.
