GENEVA — Brenda Fay (Bishop) Cevera, age 71, of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at Rae Ann Geneva Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, following a short illness.
She was born April 13, 1942, in Conneaut, Ohio, and graduated from Edgewood High School in 1962.
Brenda touched many lives as she taught Aerobics and Gymnastics at the Chalk Box where she worked for 34 years.
She was a seamstress and loved making dresses for her granddaughter.
She loved gardening, golfing, dancing, boating, fishing, the casino’s, and playing Texas Hold Em with her family and friends. She was a huge fan of the Indians, Cavaliers, Ohio State and the Browns.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Cevera Sr.; sons, Richard Cevera Jr. (Shelley) of Austinburg and Robert Cevera of Ashtabula; grandchildren, Jennifer Glotzbecker (Sgt. Joshua Glotzbecker) of Indian Head, Md., Robert Cevera Jr. of Ashtabula, Petty Officer 3rd Class, Kyle Cevera stationed in San Diego, Calif.; and great-grandson, Zander Glotzbecker. Also surviving is her twin sister, Sandra Jeffers (Dave); and several aunts; and many nieces and nephews who will miss her.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Bishop; her mother, Naomi; and stepfather, Walter Jewett.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 17th, at Our Lady of Peace Parish, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 1200 E. 21st St., Ashtabula, with Father Ernesto Rodriquez presiding. Burial will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
