AUSTINBURG — Eleanor Armocida, age 90, of Geneva, died Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at Austinburg Nursing Home & Rehab Center.
Born Dec. 25, 1923, in Chicago, Ill., the daughter of Albert and Cecelia (Lukas) Kramasz.
She and her husband were owners of “Armocade” for 11 years (1968-1979) at Geneva-on-the-Lake.
She was "A People Server", as a waitress; a housekeeper; worked at a pants factory; ran a game wagon for 5 years in Myrtle Beach, S.C.; was a Senior Companion for the elderly in Geneva and Madison for 9 years; worked at ATC in Painesville, a member of the Geneva Senior Center and the Altar & Rosary Society. An avid craft person, she had a passion for ceramics.
She is survived by her son, John (Yuliya) Armocida of Waldorf, Md.; daughter, Sandra (Gary) Brown of Geneva; three grandchildren, Jennifer (Michael) Sullivan and Alison Armocida, both of Maryland and Aaron (Brittany) Brown of Erie, Pa.; three great-grandchildren, Taren, Tristen and Teagan; and a brother, Chester (Donna) Kramasz of Willowick.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John C. Armocida whom she married July 20, 1946 in Cleveland; and her parents.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m., Monday, July 14th, at Assumption Church, 594 W. Main St., Geneva, with Fr. Robert Lanterman presiding. Interment at Mt. Pleasant at a later date.
Calling Hours will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m., Sunday, July 13th, at WALKER FUNERAL HOME, 828 Sherman St., Geneva. A Sharing Service will follow at 8:30 p.m., with the Rev. Evan Nunnally, of LIFEhouse Church of Leroy and Lifeline Church of Madison, officiating.
