The daughter of John D. and Hildegarde (Day) Huggins, she was born on Jan. 16, 1949, in Ashtabula, Ohio. Jill was a proud graduate of Harbor High School. After graduation, she attended Ohio State University and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts, majoring in Languages.

Jill was an active and faithful member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Ashtabula.

Jill taught at numerous schools during her tenure as a teacher. She traveled to Alvarado, Texas, returning to Ohio to teach at Painesville Harvey, Conneaut and St. Johns High Schools. She owned the Cookery Nook on Main Avenue in Ashtabula and began a second store in Naperville, Ill.

Jill loved to talk; she could offer opinions and advice on any subject. She was blessed with a unique sense of humor; and the ability to grow anything in her flower garden. Her Hydrangeas were beautiful.

Our memories of Jill are of her love of animals, especially her cats, her willingness to help those in need, and her love of her nieces and nephews. She was never too busy for them. They brought much happiness and joy to her life.
