ROME — James French Morrissey, age 87, died peacefully Monday, Jan. 28, 2013, after a brief hospital stay.
Born Jan. 8, 1926, in Yonkers, N.Y., to Denis M. and Loretta (nee Brady) Morrissey, he was married for 61 years to his loving wife, Helen (nee Sanborn) Morrissey, who survives.
Also surviving are his six children, Lynne Smith of Oveido, Fla., Sharon (Kevin) Carroll of S. Wales, N.Y., Beth Morrissey of Denver, Colo., Bruce (Jan-deceased) Morrissey of Roaming Shores, Ohio, Carol (Brian) McLaughlin of Chelsea, Mich. and Denis (Carey) Morrissey of Rome, Ohio; 14 beloved grandchildren and their many spouses; and one great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents and four older siblings.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3:30 p.m., with a Memorial Service from 3:30 to 4 p.m., on Saturday, Feb. 2nd, at BURR FUNERAL HOME, 116 South St. (on Route 44, 500’ south of Rt. 6/Chardon Square), Chardon, Ohio.
