ASHTABULA — William L. “Bill” Bemme, age 38, of Conneaut, Ohio, died Sunday morning, Jan. 27, 2013, as the result of a snowmobile accident in Conneaut.

Born Feb. 23, 1974, in Ashtabula, Ohio, he was the son of Joseph T. and Diana (Hessley) Bemme III, and Mary (Satterfield) Bemme.

A 1993 graduate of Jefferson High School, Bill was a lifetime area resident, living in Conneaut for the past eight years. He was employed as a press operator at Grand River Rubber in Ashtabula and formerly worked at Hamilton Furniture in Jefferson. 

Bill enjoyed classic cars and was a member of the Conneaut Lighthouse Cruisers, the State Line Sno-trackers Snowmobile Club, and enjoyed playing Texas Holdem. He was a huge fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers. Bill had fun DJ-ing with Sean McBride and also assisted Sean in setting up his band “Dive Bar Allstars”.

Survivors include his parents, Joseph and Diana (Hessley) Bemme of Jefferson, Ohio; his mother, Mary Satterfield Bemme of Orwell, Ohio; his sister, Samantha (Chris) Lampela of Conneaut; his brother, Chief Warrant Officer Ben (Danise) Schwartfigure of Ft. Stewart, Ga.; grandparents, Evelyn Hessley of Geneva, Ohio, and Glen and Faye Satterfield of Rome, Ohio; and his best friends “brothers”, Sean McBride and Boyd Miller.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Ryan Schwartfigure in 2009; and grandparents, Dorothy Bemme Kimmy, Joseph Bemme Jr., Ruth Bemme and Richard Hessley.

Funeral Services will be at 1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 1st, at the MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, with the Rev. Franklin J. Gore, of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in Lenox Township Cemetery, Lenox, Ohio.

Calling Hours will be at the Funeral Home on Thursday evening, Jan. 31st, from 6 to 9 p.m.
