WARREN — Florence M. Onion, age 90, formerly of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away, Monday afternoon, Dec. 24, 2012, at Windsor House at Champion in Warren, Ohio.
She was born Dec. 8, 1922, in Barnesboro, Pa., the daughter of Florentine and Sarah (Repine) Long. Florence was a resident of Conneaut for over 50 years where she was a member of the First Baptist Church and was active in the Friendship Class and Farther Light Mission. She enjoyed quilting, crocheting, and reading.
Survivors include her daughter, Rebecca J. Summers of Warren, Ohio; two sons, Charles B. (Maria) Onion of Meadville, Pa. and David L. (Melinda) Onion of Conneaut, Ohio; six grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; her sister, Edna Rafferty of Sykesville, Pa.; and a number of nieces, nephews and more distant relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles J. Onion in 1991; three sisters, Hazel Albright, Zelma McCauley and Edith Wilson; and a brother, Gilbert Long.
Funeral Service will be 12 p.m., Friday, Dec. 28th, at MARCY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION CENTER, 208 Liberty St., Conneaut, Ohio, with Pastor Jan Walsh, of New Leaf United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, Ohio.
Friends may call at the Funeral Home on Friday morning from 10 a.m. until the time of Service at Noon.
