PORT RICHEY, Fla. — Barbara L. (Webb) Zuke, age 72, of Port Richey, Fla., formerly of Ashtabula, Ohio, died peacefully Thursday, Dec. 20, 2012, with her husband at her side.
She leaves her husband of 52 years, John; daughter, Lisa D’Itri of Fort Myers; son, John (Jocelyn) Zuke of Winter Garden; grandchildren, Carlo D’Itri of West Hollywood, Calif., Melissa D’Itri of Bonita Springs, Fla., John Zuke of Winter Garden, Fla. and Jacob Zuke of Winter Garden, Fla.; and a brother, Terry (Marilyn Joy) Webb of Fairfield Glades, Tenn.
She was predeceased by her parents, James and Betty Jean Webb (Osgood); and her daughter, Jennifer Anne at birth.
Born in Meadville, Pa., she was a resident of Ashtabula for 45 years before moving to Florida. She attended Ashtabula High School and soon married her husband, John.
Barb worked diligently until just months before she died as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant (CNA). Barb cherished the patients that she cared for and treated them as if they were family. She was always referred by word of mouth because of the excellent care that she gave.
Barb loved to live life to the fullest by going to the beach, taking cruises and spending time with her husband, John. They were very rarely apart. She was a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary 6180. Barb could never meet enough friends who also thought the world of her.
At Barbara’s request, services will be private with her final resting place to be in Florida National Cemetery.
In honor of her passion for taking care of the terminally ill and then being cared for herself, donations can be made to HPH Hospice, 6807 Rowan Road, New Port Richey, Fla. 34653.
