JEFFERSON — Quinne M. Buzzard, beloved and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, teacher and friend, age 66, of E. Jefferson St., Jefferson, Ohio, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2013, at her residence.
She was born on April 3, 1947, in Ashtabula, Ohio, the daughter of Stephen and Beverly (Davis) Wludyga.
After graduating Jefferson High School in 1965 and receiving her cosmetology license from Isabelle’s School of Cosmetology, she owned/operated a Cut Above for many years. During this time, she began teaching adult Cosmetology at ATech which led to her love of teaching. She received her degree in education from Kent State University to become an Intervention Specialist/English at ATech, where she worked until she retired in 2012.
A resident of Ashtabula County her entire life, she was an avid Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. She was an active member of the Jefferson United Methodist Church, where she prepared dinners for “Table Talks” and “Christian Café”. She was member of the National Educators Association, Ohio Educators Association, Ohio Council of Special educators and the Ohio State Board of Cosmetology. She was involved with Jefferson Playskool, concessions for little league and midget football, Jefferson Falcons Music, Academic and Athletic Boosters and Jefferson PTO. She was a Girl Scout leader and coached/managed JAGS teams.
She loved gardening, nature, wildlife and “taking care of everybody.” She was always there to lend a hand to anyone in need, however her grandchildren held the most precious place in her heart.
Quinne is survived by her mother, Beverly Wludyga of Williamsfield; husband, John I. Buzzard of Jefferson, whom she married on August 2, 1965; children, Gwendolyn Jo (Darren) Buell of Jefferson and John I. (Michele) Buzzard Jr. of Jefferson; seven beautiful grandchildren, J. Cooper (Elizabeth) McMannes, Geary R. McMannes, Rachel E. Burr, Blaze P. Burr, Jarrett M. Buell, Lauren M. Buzzard and Christopher J. Buzzard; five brothers, Rick (Suzanne) Wludyga of New Lyme, Henry Wludyga of Chevy Chase, Md., Michael (Helen) Wludyga of Dorset, Matthew Wludyga of Willoughby Hills and Eric Wludyga of Williamsfield; and a sister, Tamera (Paul) McTrusty of Ashtabula.
