SHEFFIELD TOWNSHIP —
Winifred Marie Tisch, age 73, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Saturday, April 19, 2014.
The daughter of John and Nelma (Hietenan) Clint, she was born in Ashtabula on Oct. 5, 1940, and had remained a lifelong area resident. She was a graduate of St. John High School and enjoyed her friendships with her fellow class members.
On July 4, 1964, Winnie married Ernest Tisch and together they enjoyed forty-nine and half years of love laughter and joy.
Winnie the Florist had been a fixture in the North Kingsville area for twenty-four years, her creativity gave many hours of joy to those who received them. A talented person, not only with flowers, she created many of the beautiful ceramic pieces seen in her flower shop and her home.
Winnie’s love of animals extended to all kinds and led her to become an accomplished horsewoman. Winnie along with her daughters, Jackie and Michele traveled all over the country to participate in horse shows. The time they spent together is some of the best times of their lives. The memories they created will last forever. Winnie had a spirit of adventure; which is evident throughout her life as she learned to fly a plane and spent many hours in the cockpit preparing for her pilots license. Winnie’s love of animals was amazing; she had many pets during her lifetime. The two who stole her heart were her horse “Censor” and her dog “Rosie.” Giving of herself to her menagerie made her day worthwhile.
Winnie enjoyed writing short stories and of her adventures; these wonderful stories and many more are works in progress. The reading of these unpublished stories has given her family a great amount of joy.
Winnie will be remembered for her creativity, love of animals, devotion to her friends and family. She was a wonderful wife, mom and doting grandma.
