ASHTABULA — Gloria Presciano, age 84, a resident of Ashtabula, Ohio, died on Monday afternoon, March 18, 2013, in the Hospice Unit of the Ashtabula County Medical Center.
Born Dec. 3, 1928, in Ashtabula, she was the daughter of Anthony and Carmel (Rocco) Romano. In 1946, she married her husband of 66 years, Carmen Presciano.
Gloria enjoyed doing ceramics, gardening and spending time with her sisters. Her love was cooking for her family and following the sporting events of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of Our Lady of Peace Parish.
Survivors include her husband, Carmen “Meatball” Presciano of Ashtabula; son, Anthony “Dungy” (Debbie) Presciano Sr. of Ashtabula; granddaughter, Kristi Presciano; grandsons, Tony Jr., Jaime and Nicholas Presciano; great-grandchildren, Ana Presciano and Lexi Donato; brother, Peter Romano; and sisters, Catherine Massi, Edith Hassett and Patricia Calabrise.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Palmina Izzi and Mary Lampela; and brothers, Carmen Romano Sr. and Anthony Romano Sr.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 22nd, at Our Lady of Peace Parish, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, with entombment to follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Thursday, March 21st, from 5 to 7 p.m. at GUERRIERO FUNERAL HOME, 1550 West 19th St. in Ashtabula.
