CORTLAND — Walter F. Pritchard, age 80, former resident of W. 54th St. in Ashtabula for 28 years, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013, surrounded by his loving family.

Walter was born Sept. 8, 1933, in San Bernardino, Calif. On Dec. 17, 1983, he married Janice Pettit and together they shared almost 30 years together.

He was an administrator with Southern California Edison and retired in 1988 after 35 years of service. Walter was very knowledgeable about the Bible and used to teach the original Greek translation. He also earned his Master’s Degree and was a college professor teaching subjects related to energy and biology. He and his wife were antique collectors and dealers and loved to travel all over to antique shows. During their travels, he also enjoyed his other hobby – going out to eat at restaurants. Above everything else Walter loved his family, especially spending time with the grandchildren.

Walter is survived by his loving wife, Janice (Pettit) Pritchard; the love of their life, “Sugar” a miniature long-haired Dachshund; children, Kathy (Boyd Briggs) Luckado, Walter “Wally” (Lori) Pritchard, James V. Miller, Jeannine Lorenzetti, Darcy (Bob) Jones, Stacey Wareh and Tracey Moretti; 17 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Austin Pritchard.

At his request, there will be no formal service.
