CONNEAUT — Jose’ Angel Rios, age 60, of Conneaut, died at his residence in Conneaut on Wednesday evening, Dec. 11, 2013.
Jose was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico on Jan. 27, 1953, the son of Antonio Rios and Norbeta Jimenez.
Jose came to the United States with his family and later worked for several years at Andover Industries and various construction and landscaping jobs throughout the area.
Jose enjoyed traveling back to Puerto Rico to see his family and friends and loved to cook, especially his families’ Puerto Rican cuisine.
Jose is survived by his friend and companion for more than 14 years, Brenda Burdick of Conneaut; a son, Michael and Amanda Rios of Bayshore, N.Y.; three daughters, Mylene Lede of Tonawanda, N.Y., Melanie Rios and Popo of Buffalo, N.Y. and Mia Rios of Buffalo, N.Y.; three step-children, Adam Burdick and Ashley Burdick of Conneaut and Heather Summers and Brian of Waxhaw, N.C.; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Jose came from a family of nine children. Also surviving are eight sisters, Crucita Rios of New Jersey, Sara Lebron and Edwin of Puerto Rico, Antonia and Rafael Alvarez of Florida, Daisy Rios and Robert Berwick of Buffalo, N.Y., Mercedes Rios of Long Island, N.Y., Candy Torres and Jay of Long Island, N.Y., Judy and Thomas Lopez of Buffalo, N.Y., and Edith Borreio and Benito Rodriquez of New Jersey, N.Y.
Calling Hours will be held from 3 to 6 p.m., Monday, Dec. 16th, at RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut, Ohio 44030.
