OAKLAND, Calif. — Eric P. Ludwick Jr., age 25, former Ninevah Road resident in Geneva, died unexpectedly early Friday morning, Oct. 18, 2013, at his residence in Oakland, Calif.
He was born April 25, 1988, in Painesville, the son of Natalie S. Whited and Eric P. Ludwick Sr. and had been a resident of Geneva all of his life before going into the service in 2009. Eric was a 2007 graduate of Geneva High School. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp., being honorably discharged this past January and currently was a reservist, serving two tours in Afghanistan.
Eric will be remembered by his great sense of humor and playing jokes on everyone. He worked at Ferrante Winery before his military duty and currently was a truck driver with Woodbine Cabinets in Oakland. He played football at Geneva High School and was involved with the Boy Scouts.
Survivors include his wife, Laura J. (Roesch) Ludwick, whom he married on March 27, 2013 in Oakland; his parents, Natalie S. and Matthew W. Goodlin II of Geneva, and Eric A. and Jodi Ludwick Sr. of Ontario; a brother, Caleb J. Ludwick and a sister, Hannah D. Ludwick, both of Geneva; two half-brothers, Dustin E. Ludwick of Painesville and Brandon K. Hunter of Silver Lake, Ind.; a half-sister, Amanda L. Ludwick of Ontario; his grandparents, Willadene Whited of Geneva and Suzanne and Russell Elkins of Bonneville, Ky.; his honorary grandmother, Elizabeth Rose of Geneva; and a special cousin, Charles Whited of Geneva.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Ronald G. Whited and Paul J. Ludwick; and an aunt, Bonnie Whited.
Funeral Services will be held 9 a.m., Tuesday, at the Spire Institute (rear entrance), 1822 S. Broadway, Geneva, with the Rev. Harry Pishcura officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. The U.S. Marine Corp and Geneva Post #6846 will offer Full Military Honors.
