CLEVELAND — Eric K. Conko, age 46, of Cleveland, formerly of Ashtabula, Ohio, passed away suddenly, of natural causes on Friday, March 22, 2013.
Eric graduated from Edgewood Senior High School in Ashtabula in the top 10 of his class. He went on to earn his degree in Electrical Engineering from Youngstown State University where he graduated with Honors.
As owner of Bisociative Technology, Eric enjoyed working as an independent contractor for many companies. His gifts helped many grateful clients through his career. Currently he was working with Premier System Integrators in Smyrna, Tenn., where he was highly respected and admired.
He was a modern Renaissance man with infinite curiosity about anything related to music, science, history, global politics and a true host of other interests. Eric found his true calling as an engineer where he took delight in solving complex problems with his tireless work ethic and his innovative and insightful intellect. His loyalty to his family, friends and felines knew no bounds.
Eric’s passion for live music took him on adventures all across the country for many years, and he especially was a fan of Jerry Garcia, The Grateful Dead, Phil Lesh, Phish, and many other bands.
Living a dream of experiencing life to the fullest through live music. Through these journeys he met many wonderful friends, all of whom were touched by his kind heart, warm smile and quiet wisdom.
Eric’s vivid imagination was fueled by a love of science fiction. He was an avid Dungeons and Dragons fan; always playing the good guy, true to his nature. He was a skilled debater on his political and social interests but could always agree to disagree.
Eric is survived by his companion of twenty-one years, Jill Hauser; his father, Robert (Janet) Conko; mother, Jean Conko Young; his sister, Carey Conko (Paul) Hadlock; his nephew, Bobby Rivers; niece, Jackie Hadlock; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He was a special member of the Hauser family and "Uncle Eric" to Stephanie, Julia, Katie and Nathan Hauser.
Eric was preceded in death by his nephew, Derick Rivers; step-father, Ed Young; grandparents; and uncles.
He treasured his cats, Tiger, Chester and Daisy, as well as his former feline friends Sage, Zappa, and of course, Pixie.
A Memorial Service will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., Sunday, April 21st, at Beachland Ballroom, 15711 Waterloo Road, Cleveland, Ohio.
