GENEVA — Richard "Dick" D. Ford, age 81, of Geneva, Ohio, died Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2013, at Geneva Shores Nursing & Rehabilitation.
Born July 16, 1931, in Geneva, he was the son of Charles J. and Marion R. (Harrington) Ford. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950-1958. Dick married Barbara Ann Lewis, on June 7, 1958, in Geneva, Ohio.
He drove truck for Ohio Department of Transportation in Harpersfield and was a member of The United Church, and Geneva VFW Post #6846.
An avid old Airplane buff, he built model airplanes, and loved fishing, hunting and hanging out at the restaurants.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara; daughter, Terri (Tom) Rickard of Geneva; step-grandson, Kevin Rickard of Jefferson; nephew, Burnie (Donna) Martin of Vermont; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Rachael Martin, Carolyn Strong and Marion Hyslop; and brothers, William Ford and Charles J. "Buzzy" Ford.
Service will be 3:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 4th, at WALKER FUNERAL HOME, 828 Sherman St., Geneva, with Matt Doerle, Chaplain of Crossroad Hospice. Internment at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with Military Honors by Geneva VFW Color Guard.
Calling Hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Feb. 3rd, at the Funeral Home.
