ANDERSON, S.C. — Former Conneaut resident, Peggy L. Dye, age 74, of Anderson, S.C., passed away at AnMed Health Center in Anderson, S.C., Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013.
Born Jan. 25, 1939, in Cowen, W.Va., she was a daughter of John H. and Lenore (Wilson) Chipps. As a girl, she moved with her family to Ohio, where she graduated from Rowe High School in 1957.
Shortly after graduation, she moved to Washington, D.C., and worked as a secretary for the F.B.I. until her marriage. Peggy married the love of her life, Argel Dye on March 17, 1962, in Painesville, Ohio. They resided in Chardon where Peggy was employed as a para-legal secretary for Judge Inderlied until her retirement at age 53 in 1992.
She and Argel loved to travel in their camper to many states and historical sites. She took great joy in her dogs “Traveler and Fang”, her cat “Frippy” and her horse. Her other hobbies were crossword puzzles, reading and working on genealogy. She also was an avid supporter of the Shriners Hospital.
Survivors include her brother, John (Behula) Chipps of Anderson, S.C.; her sisters, Susy (Pat) Watson of Anderson, S.C., and Martha Ross of Conneaut, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Argel.
Committal Services will be at 11:30 a.m., Thursday, Nov. 21st, in the Mausoleum at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, North Kingsville, Ohio. The Rev. Terry Kern, of East Conneaut Baptist Chapel, will officiate.
